I'M JESSICA

I’m a mom of two, a coffee lover, and someone who’s learned how to figure things out the messy way. I want to share my story with you because if there’s one thing I know for sure, it’s that freedom rarely just shows up, you have to create it. And sometimes all it takes is a laptop, sheer determination, and a whole lot of caffeine.

For years I worked in healthcare, night shifts, weekends, holidays, 12-hour stretches that seemed endless. I missed birthdays, family dinners, those little moments you never get back. I felt stuck in a job that drained more from me than it ever gave back. When my daughter was born in 2020, and the world flipped upside down, I knew I couldn’t keep going that way. I left the medical field, but I also knew I wasn’t built to step away from doing work that mattered. I wanted to contribute, to stay independent, to build something my family could be proud of.

So, I started a “side hustle.” You know, the kind that quickly spirals into working 7 days a week, 10–15 hours a day, with still no freedom. (Yep, I basically traded one hamster wheel for another.) Eventually, I sold the businesses, entered into financial services, worked my way up to Executive Assistant and then Operations Manager. Along the way, I discovered what I loved....marketing, design, systems, and all the behind-the-scenes magic that makes businesses run. Even then, something was missing. I still didn’t have control of my time, my freedom, or the way I wanted to show up for my family.

Cue the lightbulb moment : what if I took those skills I loved and used them to support others? That’s when I stepped into the world of Virtual Assistance. In the beginning, I was lost. I didn’t know what to offer, where to find clients, or how much I was even worth. I applied for jobs and got silence. I rewrote my resume endlessly. It was frustrating and heavy. But I wasn’t ready to quit, I knew there had to be a better way. So I threw myself in, learning everything I could, late nights and early mornings, and then it hit me: what if I built the roadmap I had needed from the start?

That’s how FloVA was created. .

OUR STORY

FloVA not just a course, it’s a hand to hold through every step. Tutorials, templates, resume help… all the things I wish someone had given me when I was stuck guessing and Googling for answers. But I didn’t stop there. The hardest part in the beginning wasn’t learning the skills, it was finding clients. I remember applying to over 20 jobs and hearing nothing back. That silence can crush you. I thought to myself, my resume looks fantastic, but I wasn't tailoring them to each role. I just had my lists of skills, experiences and projects all in the same resume. I wasn't making myself an expert in THEIR pain points. So I asked myself: what if technology could make this part easier?

That’s when VA Scout was born. It’s like having your own little VA job genie- finding opportunities, writing tailored outreach, updating resumes to fit each role, and even tracking applications for you. Instead of endless stress, you move quickly from searching to actually landing clients.
